In To 2012 We Go
So another year begins and what a year it looks like it’s going to be. I enter it, on a personal level in a much healthier state having lost around three stone in 2011. I aim to continue this venture and have already signed up to the Canberra Half-Marathon in April. I’m also hoping to find some good cycling events to take part in as one thing I will miss is the opportunity to go back to some of the events I did this year to try to best my times.
Which nicely leads me on to perhaps the biggest thing to happen next year; our emigration to Australia. February will be the month of two halves with one being spent in England and the next Australia. It’s getting rather close now to our departure date and it’s dawning on the both of us just how massive this change is going to be. We know the first few weeks will be hectic, stressful and tiring but we’re hoping that with some of the planning we’ve done and are still doing it won’t be half as bad as we think it’s going to be. The shipping is pretty much settled now, short-term accommodation is booked and Cati has sorted herself out a job to start once we get there; so far, so good! I’m planning on getting me CV out there through January and if I’m lucky I’ll hopefully have a job waiting for me too.
Finally there’s the Olympics to watch in the summer. It’s a bit of a shame we couldn’t get any tickets but then I guess not getting was probably a good thing.
Happy New Year everyone, may 2012 be a fantastic year for you.
