What a Week!

Party Time!
The past week has thrown up more surprises and curve balls than I’ve had for a long while. What made it worse was that it all started on my birthday which was Thursday (21st). I’d taken the day off work as well as Friday with the idea of it being relaxing, no such luck. What happened was, early morning, I got a call from my landlord advising he and the landlady we’re separating and that the house is going to be put on the market.
This was quite some news to receive on one’s birthday. He did say that they want to sell it as a package i.e. with us in it but that he’ll be visiting Monday to measure the kitchen (more on that in a bit) and that the letting agency will be calling to arrange a visit also. He also stressed that the house needed to be in good nick for the photos and kept that way till a sale goes through. Now those who know us will be aware that while we’re never living in a pig-sty we’re not exactly great at keeping things spotless. So we’ve now got, at time of writing, just over a day before the landlord visits and 4 till the letting agent. What amused me though was, later that day I was in the kitchen chuckling thinking ‘well at least we’re getting a new kitchen!’
As for my birthday, despite the stress that came out of nowhere, it was rather enjoyable. Cati and I went out in the evening to see a friends band perform and overall it was a pretty chilled out day. This weekend has seen Cati go to London to visit a friend while I had a friend over. Saw Westbury win yesterday in a cup match and, hopefully, will see United get a win over Stoke today. Next week is going to be interesting but with any luck we’ll be prepared.
